For Linux you can use positron. It's a command line tool to add songs to your Neuros. It's developed by Xiph (for ogg).
Neurosetta is the firmware also developed by Xiph to add ogg vorbis playback.
You should also get the newer firmware for your Neuros to add new features. If you wish you can also try the beta ones.
You should also check http://open.neurosaudio.com. They keep up to date news about firmware updates, features and plans.

KPositron is a frontend to positron. KDE based (QT).
